Chris Brown’s first day in court, police’s actual report

Today, singer Chris Brown stood before a judge concerning his alleged assault against Feb 8th with girlfriend Robyn “Rihanna” Fenty. According to TMZ.com, the session took roughly 4 minutes and 20 seconds.

In court, Brown and his attorney Mark Geragos did not enter a plea to the two felony charges he is facing. According to CNN, authorities have charged Brown with felony counts of assault and making criminal threats. If he is convicted, his punishment ranges from probation to four years and eight months in prison. 

While in court, the judge granted the pop singer’s request to move the arraignment to April 6th. Someone tell me why. While in court, Brown also signed a waiver of presence….This document  allows his lawyer to act on his behalf… meaning that he will not have to show up to any minor court proceedings before April.

The judge did give the Brown the command that “You are not to annoy, harass, molest, threaten or use force or violence against anyone.”

I know that I am supposed to stay professional…but…..I was shocked and disgusted…
People joke around and say, Rihanna angered him and made him hit her. Rihanna should have hit him back. Rihanna should have jumped out of the car. Rihanna is a softie. I disagree with all of these statements. Even if Brown did anger Rihanna, he did not have to go as far as to hit her repeatedly. He did not have to lose control of his anger. Rihanna fighting back would have been ideal, but she was probably in pain and in shock. Do you know what it is like to be a young woman and have a male yelling over you? I have been in that situation (verbal) and it is intimadating. You want to step back and protect yourself but your feet can barely move. Rihanna did everything but jump out of the car- she tried to call someone twice, gauge out his eyes and curled into the fedal position to protect herself. It is very scary when you are up against a man who is stronger than you I myself was scared and shocked. To have someone you love and trusted standing over you cussing you out…….I can barely imagine what Rihanna went through to have it turn violent. This a serious matter.

Rhianna Photo Leak Could Cost the Case

On February 19th the celebrity gossip site TMZ released a photo of singer Rhianna after an allegedly by fellow Grammy nominee Chris Brown.

It was reported by TheMediaBuffet.com, the source who released the photo was paid $62.5K by TMZ. They also reported that regularly, TMZ pays a relative or friend of the source within 24 hours.

Unfortunately, according to the website, the release of the photo could hinder the legal case against Brown. The release of the photo may manipulate the fairness that Brown should be give by a jury. Brown is supposed to be seen as a alleged a attack, not an already convicted criminal. Now, charges could be dropped. 

A source within the Los Angeles Police Department commented that,“Brown, even if guilty, could walk free because of the unauthorized release of this photo.”

TMZ’s Executive Producer Harvey Levin said on “On the Record” that when he first received the phtot, he did not know that it was the real one from the police department. 

The LAPD began receiving questions about the release of the Rhianna photo the day before it was posted on TMZ.com. Below is a direct link to the original news release of the photo from the police department.
