June 17 the Los Angeles won the NBA Playoffs. However, two of my favorite moments came after the big win.

1) After the win, on camera, Lakers Ron Artest gave his shout outs. Within that, he thanked “everybody in my hood…my doctor, Dr. Sandy, my psychiatrist. She really helped me relax a lot…There’s so much commotion going in the playoffs. She helped me relax. I thank you so much.”

Artest went on further to say “And my single come’in out…I got a single called ‘Champion.’ I did a sing called ‘Champion’ last June!”

Last night was also a success for Byrant. He scored 23 points and was named Most Valuable Player. This is Bryant’s fifth MVP title with the Lakers.

“This one is by far the sweetest, because it’s them,” Bryant said. “This was the hardest one by far. I wanted it so bad, and sometimes when you want it so bad, it slips away from you. My guys picked me up.”

Coach Phil Jackson won his 11th NBA championship win. This ties him with former Celtic’s center Bill Russell, who was on the floor to congratulate Bryant. Russell holds the record for most championships won by an athlete in N.America.

In Game 7 Lakers Ron Artest scored 20 points and Pau Gasol 19. For the Celetics Paul Pierce scored 18. Ray Allen, who scored 13 points for the Celtics was reported as saying “We were scratching and clawing, trying to do everything we could to try to pull this out…. I don’t think we ran out of steam. Lady Luck just didn’t bounce in our corner…There were a lot of tears, a lot of tears.”

The Associated Press reported that Game 7 earned ABC network a rating of 18.2, the highest for a NBA game since 1998 when Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls loss to the Utah Jazz. That game had a rating of 22.9.
