A judge granted rapper Lil Wayne three years probation, a sentence scheduled to begin immediately after he is released from prison in November. Earlier this month, the 30 year old rapper, born Dwayne Carter, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a dangerous drug when he was arrested after police found four ounces of marijuana, an ounce of cocaine, 41 grams of ecstasy and a self registered 40-calibre pistol on board his tour bus at a US Border Patrol checkpoint in Yuma, Arizona in 2008.

Lil Wayne’s guilty plea with prosecutors will drop additional charges of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, misconduct involving weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The rapper is currently serving a one-year sentence from an unrelated 2007 plea deal for attempted gun possession, in Rikers Island prison in New York. He will start his Arizona probation once he is released from prison.

“We’re quite glad that we were able to wrap everything up. It’s a favorable plea agreement that will allow Mr. Carter to pursue his career,” said James Tilson, Wayne’s Arizona attorney.

"Back On My B.S."

When Busta Rhymes came out with The Coming in 1996, the public was surprised by his cartoonish music videos, massive dreadlocks and unique wardrobe. However, years later he shocked and lost some fans when he shaved off his dreads and traded in his samurai robes for white-beaters and blue jeans. Some listeners were left wondering where the old Busta was and if he could keep ears on his music.

On March 24, 2009 Busta Rhymes is releasing his eighth album Back On My B.S.. The album has tracks produced by impressive names such as Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Dr. Dre and the Neptunes. Busta also invited artists to give their voices. “If” features Nicole Scherzinger, “G Stroll” features Pharrell, Ne-Yo and the remix “Don’t Touch Me (Throw Da Water On ’Em)” features Reek Da Villain, Spliff Star, Lil Wayne, Nas, The Game and Big Daddy Kane.

In an interview with MTV, Rhymes said of the new album, “It’s gonna be great — look forward to the new bang-out.” You listen and decide if he’s still got it!
