On Sunday I was fortunate attend enough to attend Obama’s

free concert.

It was hosted at the National Mall in D.C. The stage was all the way by the Lincoln  Memorial. We got there late so were were miles down the Mall, in front of the Washington Monument. The concert was fabulous. Will.I.Am, Sherly Crow, Shakira, Usher, Willy Nelson, Stevie Wonder and U2 performed. Others performed, BUT, we got there too late to see them.

It was so exciting. Stevie Wonder. Shakira and Usher did a song together. It was soooo good. Shakira’s voice stood out a lot [haha] but i still enjoyed the song. However, my favorite part of the show was U2’s performance. My eyes teared up! I wanted to cry but I don’t like to when I am in front of my family. U2’s song dedicated to Martin Luther King Jr. was beautiful. Also, I had no idea that U2 was Irish. Bono, the lead singer of the band, words were so touching. He said that as an person from an Irish family, MLK and Obama means freedom fro him. I was beside myself!

After the musical part of the  concert, Obama came out. Yippy! He expressed how happy he was to see us all there.

I loved the concert, however, the phenomenal part of my day was not the music. It moved me to see so many people of so many races and ages together celebrating one man. One event. This day really meant  a lot to me.
